What is Ice Oval Racing

Racers from all over take a snowmobile to a man made ice oval track and run for the checkers while battling the competition and the ideal set up for handling a race track that breaks apart the more they race on it. High G-forces and speeds clocked at 103 mph at Eagle River Derby Track in Eagle River, WI is the home of the Annual AMSOIL World Championships. 2010 marks the 47th year for the event. Small tracks at fairgrounds ( Bristol style ) and venues like Wausau 525 in a man made pond are just a small sample of events for these brave speed demons. A variety of classes from juniors to sportsman to stock and up to the pro champ sleds. Winters version of NASCAR, but no roll cage or seat belts. Just set of handle grips, lots of studs in the tracks and razor sharp carbides.
